Small Italian Town Embraces Wind Power
from the New York Times
by C.J. Opperthauser
Brilliant stamps of innovation,
squint-white, foot-stuck
into Italian countryside. Rolling hills
breach up toward them like desperate
Mediterranean waves, a forever-passing glance
at some tall movie star.
Centuries and ten feet from the old churches
and wine-stained bars, the giants spin.
In the sun-washed town below,
a boy prays to God the clouds
can miss the slices on their float up the mountain.
