Am I Pretty Enough?
Kathryn Ciesielka
I wonder
how different I’d be
if I lived in a house
with no mirrors.
Would I feel
comfortable in my
own skin?
Would I
worry about what
others think?
Would I focus on
the fat on my stomach
or the blemishes on my skin?
Would I compare myself
to the women
I see online?
The women
who use photo shop
and unrealistic editing
to make others feel
inferior.
You see,
that’s the problem.
This creates the mindset
that you aren’t good enough.
Aren’t pretty enough.
Aren’t skinny enough.
We, as a society,
should focus less
on the exterior
and more on the interior.
It shouldn’t be
a matter of pretty enough,
but kind enough,
loving enough,
compassionate enough.
