Malea Baer holds an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Her work has appeared in The Sacramento Bee, The Westchester Review, and on the website Literacyhead. In addition to being a writer and artist, Malea is also a single, homeschooling mom, and teaches English.

Mitch Grabois was born in the Bronx and now lives in Denver. His poetry and short fiction has appeared in over eighty literary magazines, most recently Memoir Journal, Out of Our, and Turbulence (England). His short story, “Purple Heart” appeared in last Spring’s The Examined Life. Tom Joyce was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Tom graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1959 and went on to jobs in administration and criminology. He served in Vienna, Austria, as a U.S. Army counterintelligence agent, and he received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1973. A member of the American Society of Criminology, he has taught, trained, and lectured in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He is currently employed with the U.S. Department of Labor.

Daniel Lowe has had his work published in West Branch, The Nebraska Review, The Montana Review, The Wisconsin Review, The Writing Room, The Bridge, The Paterson Literary Review, Ellipsis, Blue Stem, and other literary journals and anthologies.

Alexis Pernsteiner is an American writer and translator living in French Catalonia. Her work has appeared in Words without Borders and Asymptote Journal, and will be published in a forthcoming issue of Zymbol Magazine.

Kate Quick recently published an essay in Cirque Journal, and is in the final stages of revising a collection of essays, of which "Fish Mox" is a part. She currently lives in Sutton, Alaska, and teaches English classes for the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Anina Robb is a 42 year old poet living in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband and two neat kids. She earned a MFA from Sarah Lawrence College, and has published poems in Nebo, The White Pelican Review, Rilvendel, Oatmeal and Poetry, and Emerge.

Ryan Shoemaker’s fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in the Santa Monica Review, Hawai’i Review, Grist: A Journal for Writers, Weber: The Contemporary West, and the MacGuffin. He lives in Burbank, California with his wife, Jennifer, and two children, Kieran and Haven.
