The pranksters are out--
little goblins and ghouls--
getting treats
for the trick
of making
death seem unreal.

Horses shod and stabled
a ghost sign reads
after the demolition
of its adjoining building.
Behind it lies
an old, green cemetery,
its gravestones
worn clean.
