a true danger, worse than murder,
had to be set ablaze--she thought
she was just. Even she has a story--
a dad who sometimes
wanted her dead, a mom
tossed away like a torn sweater,
a brother who tried to sabotage her,
a husband who found her blah.

Sometimes the terrible
have aches
that never go away.
