Dennis J Bernstein is the host and executive producer of Flashpoints, a daily news magazine broadcast on Pacifica Radio. He is an award-winning investigative reporter, essayist and poet. His articles, essays and interviews have appeared widely. Bernstein is also a widely published poet and the author, most recently, of Special Ed: Voices from a Hidden Classroom, which received the Literary Achievement Award from Artist Embassy International. His poetry has appeared in the New York Quarterly, Chimaera, Bat City Review, The Progressive, Texas Observer, ZYZZYVA, etc. Dennis J Bernstein’s latest book of poetry, Five Oceans in a Teaspoon, with visualizations and animations by award-winning visual artist, Warren Lehrer, will be out next fall.
John Conaway grew up in Flint, Michigan and now lives in Charlotte, North Carolina where he runs a small Internet business and writes stories. His stories have appeared or will shortly appear in Literally Stories, Fiction on The Web, Front Porch Review, and Dead Mule School of Literature.

Lawrence F. Farrar --As a career Foreign Service officer, Lawrence served in Japan (multiple tours), Germany, Norway, and Washington, D.C. Short term assignments took him to more than 30 countries. He also spent several years in Japan as a graduate student and as a naval officer. Currently a Minnesota resident, Lawrence has degrees from Dartmouth and Stanford. He also completed studies at the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Study in Tokyo and the National Defense University in Washington, DC. In addition to earlier appearances in Blue Lake Review, Lawrence's stories have appeared in Flyleaf Journal, Tampa Review Online, Curbside Splendor E-Zine,The MacGuffin, O-Dark-Thirty, Big Muddy, Red Cedar Review, Colere, Eastlit, G.W. Jim Gish was born and raised in Western Kentucky among the rogue Baptist tribes. His parents quit school after the 8th grade, and Gish was the first of an extended family to graduate from college. His writing influences include Faulkner, Lee Smith and Joyce Carol Oates. He has published in such periodicals as phoebe, Eclectica and The Litchfield Review, among others. Gish is a writer, a college level psychology instructor and a speaker/counselor.
Madeline McGrain Githler recently graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in creative writing. She now lives in Big Sur, California with her dog, Bee. Above all she loves writing, but she also enjoys the show Planet Earth, donut eating, and spending time with her grandparents.

Peter Ninnes is a freelance researcher and project manager based in Sydney, Australia. He obtained his PhD in sociology of education from Flinders University of South Australia. David Jeremy Swerdloff graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. After graduation he spent several years traveling and working in bars and restaurants. He currently lives and works in Washington, D.C.
