Gadgets distract us
from our true selves.
We get lost in them.
They become a crutch,
a kickstand, and when
they go haywire we
fall and can’t get up.
Gadgets consume us.
Technology takes
over and we do not
talk anymore, face
to face, voice to ear,
in person.  One day
gadgets will take over
and ironically when
the plug is pulled
we will be free at last.
